Vintage Vibes & Velvet Sofas: A Cinematic Couple’s Shoot at Sanctum at The Grand

I’m not gonna lie — this shoot had me making all kinds of excited, probably weird little sounds behind the camera. ...okay, big and REALLY weird sounds.

We got to play in one of the coolest hidden gems in Phoenix: Sanctum at The Grand, a speakeasy-style lounge with the most moody, gorgeous vibes. Think rich velvet, deep red walls, vintage glassware, and a vibe straight out of a noir film — basically, photographer's heaven.

My couple came dressed to the nines, ready to live their best glamorous lives. We started off draped across the red velvet couch beneath a moody oil painting, channeling that classic old Hollywood with a bit of trouble energy. Then we moved behind the bar — cocktails in hand, flirting like it was their first date all over again. The lighting, the laughter, the intimacy? Magic.

And then... that shot. The one with the deep shadows, glowing reds and blues, and just their silhouettes leaning into each other? That’s the kind of shot that makes my job feel like art and passion all rolled into one.
