15 Minutes From Disaster: Kalynn & Anthony's Sedona Wedding

| Phoenix Wedding Photographer | Nov. 2025 | Sedona, Arizona

I thought we were screwed.

Dark gray sky. Thunder over Cathedral Rock. Ceremony starting in fifteen minutes. As a

Phoenix wedding photographer, I've dealt with weather, but this was next level.

Guests were seated. Rain was coming. My 2nd Photog, Andrew and I exchanged panicked looks.

Then the weirdest thing happened... the storm just split. Blue sky appeared. Light came gently through the mix of clouds. Those red rocks went from moody to absolutely GLOWING.

I've never seen anything like it.

Storm light is what we dream about. The clouds work like a massive softbox.

But this?

Unreal.

We hiked around for portraits - both of them laughing their asses off. Storm clouds still hanging around creating this dramatic backdrop you can't fake.

Reception? The Best Man and MOH gave a toast that wrecked everyone. Anthony & Kalynn busted out a choreographed dance. People danced amidst the laser lights ALL NIGHT.

This is why I love shooting Sedona weddings. The landscape is ridiculous. The weather keeps you on your toes. Everything comes together at exactly the right moment.

I shoot all over Arizona - Phoenix, Scottsdale, Flagstaff, Tucson - and across the country. But Sedona hits different.

Getting married in Sedona? Hit me up.
